In this image of the "spritual brain" the great occult philosopher Robert Fludd not only represents the five senses, but also the way through which God can communicate with man and vice versa. Accoridng to Fludd, this can be achieved using the faculties of reason (Ratio), intellect (Intellectus) and mind (Mens). Above these in the image, we see depicted a "communication channel" that allows man to access the heavnely realm. As pictured in his Utriusque Cosmi, Maioris scilicet et Minoris (1617–21).
